Legal &
On-Ground Enforcement

When a takedown isn't enough, we prepare the evidence and arrange action in India through independent counsel: notices, court orders, police complaints, raids and trademark filings.

Trusted by publishers, media, education and D2C brands

Legal and on-ground enforcement we coordinate

Bytescare is not a law firm. Legal work is done by independent counsel, quoted per matter and billed separately; we prepare the evidence and coordinate each step.

Physical Raids & Enforcement Actions

On-ground action against counterfeit stock, through the police or the courts

When counterfeits are made or stored at a physical location, enforcement can take one of two routes, both through independent counsel.

Counsel can file a complaint with the police, who decide whether to search and seize, or ask a civil court to appoint a local commissioner to inspect and seize goods, which gives stronger evidence for later litigation. Which route is faster depends on the case.

We handle the investigation, evidence and coordination around the action. Costs are quoted per matter and billed in addition to the service fee; court-appointed commissioners' fees and storage of seized goods are extra.

Personality Rights Litigation

Court action to protect your name, image, voice and likeness, through independent counsel

Deepfakes, fake endorsements and unauthorised merchandise increasingly misuse well-known people's names, faces and voices.

Independent counsel can bring a suit to protect your personality rights. Indian courts have granted injunctions in such cases, including orders against unknown defendants and directions to platforms to take down the listed content.

We supply the monitoring evidence and check compliance after an order. Fees are quoted per matter and billed separately.

Criminal Complaints & Law Enforcement Reporting

Police and cybercrime complaints for fraud, impersonation and piracy

When misconduct is a crime, such as fraud, impersonation or large-scale piracy, a police complaint may be the right step.

We prepare complaint packs for cybercrime units (in India via cybercrime.gov.in or the 1930 helpline) and track progress. Outcomes rest with the authorities.

Each pack holds the evidence, a timeline and the details investigators ask for. Where a lawyer has to draft or file the complaint, independent counsel does so, with fees quoted per matter.

Cyber Investigation Case

Forensic cyber investigations for civil or criminal proceedings

Complex matters, such as coordinated impersonation networks, financial fraud or cross-border infringement, need a dedicated investigation.

We bring our analysts, independent investigators and counsel together in one workstream, and structure the findings for use in civil suits, criminal complaints and regulatory filings.

The result is a documented record of what happened, as far as the evidence shows. Fees are quoted per matter and billed in addition to the service fee.

How legal and on-ground enforcement works

Legal work is done by independent counsel, on your instructions, with fees quoted per matter.

  1. Case review

We review the evidence from your monitoring, or evidence you bring, and the outcome you want.

  2. Independent counsel

We brief independent counsel in the relevant jurisdiction, who advise you on the options. Bytescare is not a law firm.

  3. A quote before work starts

Fees are quoted per matter, before anything starts, and billed separately from your service fee; court, filing and registry fees are extra.

  4. Evidence pack

Captures with timestamps, URLs and chain-of-custody records, test buys and investigation reports, prepared for the action you choose.

  5. Action on your instructions

Counsel sends notices and files cases or complaints only on your instructions. Raids are carried out by the police or a court-appointed commissioner.

  6. Follow-through

We check compliance with any order and keep takedown requests going, with their status in your dashboard. Outcomes rest with the courts and authorities.

Legal and on-ground enforcement FAQs

Is Bytescare a law firm?

No. Bytescare is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. Legal work is done by independent counsel; we prepare the evidence, coordinate each step and keep monitoring alongside the case.

How are legal fees charged?

Fees are quoted per matter, before work starts, and billed separately from your Bytescare service fee. Court, filing and registry fees, and costs such as court-appointed commissioners' fees, are extra.

What legal action can you help with in India?

Through independent counsel: cease-and-desist notices, civil suits for injunctions and damages (including against unknown infringers and piracy sites), personality-rights cases, police and cybercrime complaints, raids on counterfeit operations, domain disputes and trademark filings.

How do raids against counterfeiters work in India?

There are two routes, both through independent counsel. On a complaint, the police may search premises and seize counterfeit goods; in a civil case, a court can appoint a local commissioner to do so. Which route is faster depends on the case: for trademark counterfeits, the police must first get the Trade Marks Registrar's opinion (section 115(4) of the Trade Marks Act), while a civil court can appoint a local commissioner at the first hearing. The court route also gives stronger evidence for litigation.

Can you file a police complaint for online fraud or impersonation?

We prepare complaint packs for cybercrime units (in India via cybercrime.gov.in or the 1930 helpline) and track progress. Outcomes rest with the authorities. Where a lawyer has to draft or file the complaint, independent counsel does so.

Can you send a cease-and-desist notice?

Independent counsel drafts and sends cease-and-desist notices on your instructions, setting out the infringement and the evidence. We supply the evidence; fees are quoted per matter.

Do you guarantee the outcome of a case?

No. Courts, the police and other authorities decide outcomes. We commit to thorough evidence and coordination, and counsel advises you on the options and risks before you decide.
