What our anti-piracy service covers

Piracy looks different for video, text, images, music and apps. Here is where we look for each, and what we file.

Unauthorized Video Sharing

Protect your videos from leaks and unauthorized distribution

Pirated copies of films, shows, courses and recorded live streams cut into the subscription, ticket and licensing revenue the content was made to earn.

On your plan's scan cycle, we look for copies of your titles on streaming and torrent sites, cyberlockers, Telegram channels and social platforms. An analyst reviews each match before it reaches you.

Once you confirm a link, we file takedown notices with the site, its host and the search engines that list it. Each platform decides on removal, and every request's status is in your dashboard.

Article Piracy

Protect your articles from unauthorized copying and redistribution

When scraper sites and copycat blogs republish your journalism, research or course notes, they compete with your own pages in search and take readers and ad revenue with them.

We look for full copies and close paraphrases of your articles across the web, and record where each copy is hosted and indexed.

For each copy you confirm, we send a takedown notice to the site's host and ask search engines to remove the copy from their results.

Unauthorized Image Sharing

Safeguard your images from misuse across digital platforms

Professional photography is expensive to produce. On unauthorised stores, marketplaces or fake websites, your product shots and editorial images lend credibility to sellers you never approved.

Image matching helps us find your photos on websites, marketplaces and social platforms, including resized and cropped copies.

For each use you confirm is unlicensed, we file a copyright notice with the site, host or marketplace involved.

Social Media Piracy Posts

Find re-uploads of your content on social media platforms

Clips and full episodes are re-uploaded to YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X and Telegram, where they collect views that belong on your official channels.

On your plan's scan cycle, we search the platforms in your plan for re-uploads, using your titles, keywords, hashtags and visual matches.

We report the posts you confirm through each platform's copyright tools for rights holders and their agents. Removal times are set by each platform; in India, the IT Rules also set deadlines for some complaints, such as impersonation and intimate images. Every request's status is in your dashboard.

Audio & Music Piracy

Secure your audio from unauthorized sharing and distribution

Leaks on download sites, Telegram channels and unlicensed streaming apps undercut a release's promotion and the royalties and subscriptions that artists, labels and audio apps depend on.

We search download and leak sites, unlicensed streaming apps, Telegram channels, file-sharing networks and video platforms for your tracks, albums, podcasts, audiobooks and audio series, including pre-release leaks.

Once you confirm a match, we file takedown notices with the site, host or platform and track each one in your dashboard.

APK Piracy

Secure your applications from illegal distribution and unauthorized usage

Modified ('modded') APKs unlock paid features, strip out ads and can carry malware, costing app and game developers revenue and their users' trust.

We monitor the third-party app stores, APK download sites and Telegram channels agreed in your plan for unauthorised and modified versions of your apps and games.

For the copies you confirm, we file takedown notices with the stores, sites and hosts involved, and record each request's status in your dashboard.

For online games, we also look for unofficial ('private') servers, cracked clients and cheat sellers, and the sites, videos and community channels that promote them. We report the ones you confirm to the hosts, registrars, platforms and search engines involved; each decides what to remove.

How our anti-piracy service works

You approve every takedown, and each platform decides on removal. Here is what happens in between.

  1. Share your titles

Tell us which films, shows, courses, books, music or apps to protect and where you publish them, and sign a letter of authorisation so we can act as your agent.

  2. We scan on your plan's cycle

Monitoring runs on your plan's scan cycle across search engines such as Google, Bing and Yandex, social and video platforms such as YouTube, VK and Rutube, Telegram, streaming and torrent sites, cyberlockers and app stores. First findings arrive within 7 working days.

  3. You confirm each takedown

Our analysts review every link before it reaches you, and nothing is filed until you confirm it. You can confirm clear-cut cases in advance, such as full copies on known piracy sites.

  4. We file the notices

DMCA and other copyright notices go to the hosts, platforms and search engines involved. Where a platform offers rights holders and their agents a dedicated reporting channel and we have access to it, we use it.

  5. Track every request

Removal times are set by each platform; in India, the IT Rules also set deadlines for some complaints, such as impersonation and intimate images. Every request's status is in your dashboard, and your monthly report lists pending, followed-up and failed requests.

  6. Escalate when needed

For repeat or defiant sites: optional legal escalation through independent counsel, such as site-blocking orders from a court; fees quoted per matter.

Anti-piracy service FAQs

What does an anti-piracy service do?

An anti-piracy service finds unauthorised copies of your content online and sends takedown notices to the sites, platforms and search engines that host or list them. Bytescare monitors on your plan's scan cycle, reviews every match, and files a notice for each link you confirm.

How long does a DMCA takedown take?

There is no fixed time: removal times are set by each platform, search engine or host, and some ignore notices altogether. In India, the IT Rules also set deadlines for some complaints, such as impersonation and intimate images. Every request's status is in your dashboard. We follow up on open requests, escalate where a platform offers a route, and report any request that fails with the reason and a suggested next step.

Do you guarantee that pirated content will be removed?

No. Bytescare finds infringements and files the notices, but each platform, search engine or host decides whether to remove the content. What we commit to is the process: monitoring on your plan's scan cycle, first findings within 7 working days, a notice for every link you confirm, and each request's status in your dashboard.

Do I have to approve every takedown notice?

Yes. Our analysts review every match, and nothing is filed until you confirm it. To move faster, you can confirm clear-cut cases in advance, such as full copies of a title on known piracy sites, so you aren't asked about each one.

Which platforms and sites do you monitor for piracy?

The sources agreed in your plan, typically search engines, social platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and X, Telegram channels, streaming and torrent sites, cyberlockers, file-sharing networks and app stores. You can also send us links you find yourself, and we review and act on them in the same way.

Can you send takedown notices to Indian websites and apps, not just DMCA notices?

Yes. The DMCA is a US law, but most international platforms and search engines accept copyright notices through their DMCA forms wherever the rights holder is based. For websites and apps in India, we use the grievance and complaint channels that intermediaries must provide under the IT Rules, 2021, and cite the Copyright Act, 1957.

How much does an anti-piracy service cost?

It depends on how many titles you need protected, which platforms are covered and how often they are scanned. Plans are quoted after a short discovery call. Legal escalation, if you ever need it, goes through independent counsel and is quoted per matter and billed separately.
